SOZO
IZAKAYA
(Versova, Mumbai)
(Quick Service Restaurant))
When Celebrity Chef Parvez Khan approached us with his vision for bringing Japanese izakaya-style dining to Indian palates, we knew this project would be special. Sozo Izakaya emerged as the perfect fusion concept—a QSR destination where traditional Japanese techniques meet Indian flavor preferences. Our extensive location analysis identified the ideal high-traffic space that would attract both curious newcomers and Japanese cuisine enthusiasts.
The interior design balances authentic Japanese minimalism with vibrant Indian aesthetics through shoji-inspired elements contrasted against a striking red feature wall. This intentional design language creates an atmosphere that feels both exotic and familiar to the Indian diner.
Chef Khan's menu showcases his acclaimed ramen bowls—hearty, flavorful creations that introduce Indian diners to Japanese comfort food while accommodating local taste preferences. The restaurant's signature innovation, however, is undoubtedly the "baoger"—a creative fusion featuring house-made bao buns transformed into burger vessels, perfectly symbolizing Sozo's east-meets-east culinary philosophy.
The Lil Paris Cafe
(Andheri, Mumbai)
(Cafe))
Our latest project, The Lil Paris Cafe, captures the essence of a true Parisian sidewalk cafe while serving as the neighborhood's cherished "third place" between home and work. Working closely with the owners, we crafted an inviting ambiance through carefully selected comfortable seating, warm lighting, and thoughtful acoustic design that allows for both focused work and intimate conversations.
The stunning outdoor area, where we integrated lush greenery and weather-appropriate furnishings to create an all-season haven. Our design accommodates various social scenarios—from solo laptop sessions with signature coffees to group gatherings over generous shareable plates.
Every design element supports the cafe's core concept: a versatile community space where guests feel welcome whether staying for hours with a book or laptop or meeting friends over items from their extensive beverage menu. Custom shelving, built-in power outlets, and adjustable lighting zones transform the space throughout the day, ensuring the perfect atmosphere from morning espresso to evening cold coffees.
The result is a neighborhood destination that feels both transportive and familiar—a slice of Paris that has quickly become an essential part of the local community's daily rhythm.
RASA
(Mumbai)
(Casual Dining Restaurant))
Our design for Rasa reimagines traditional South Indian dining through the lens of family togetherness. We developed custom table configurations specifically to accommodate extended family gatherings—a core element of South Indian culture that commercial spaces often overlook. These versatile seating arrangements naturally encourage sharing and conversation across generations.
The interior design draws inspiration from authentic South Indian homes, featuring carefully sourced architectural elements like traditional columns, carved wooden details, and brass accents that transport diners to the heartland of South India. Every material selection honors heritage while meeting modern commercial durability requirements.
Beyond aesthetics, we collaborated closely with the culinary team to ensure the space properly showcases their remarkable menu of village-sourced recipes that extend well beyond familiar idli and dosa offerings. The highlight service station for their signature filter coffee was intentionally positioned as a theatrical focal point in the dining room.
Our contemporary interpretation of these traditional elements creates an elevated experience that feels simultaneously authentic and special—transforming family meals into true celebrations. Rasa stands as a testament to how thoughtful design can preserve cultural dining traditions while creating a sophisticated modern restaurant experience.
